The installation & operation manual that came with the stove was for a different stove, a previous stove, and the instruction for the single air-control rod/primary air-control rod was diametrically opposite of how it actually works. After experiencing grief with attempting to start fires, I went online and found the manual at the Englander website and was able to verify my suspicion about the air-control rod operation. I also contacted the retailer, and they were able to provide me with a correct manual for the stove.
