After picking up my new wood stove from Menards and getting it home I got the crate apart and immediately noticed a hole in the ash catch lip and it appears the base is slightly caved in on one side. Waiting to hear back from customer service as to whether this is normal and if these are parts/pieces that can simply be replaced. I want to like the stove, but for being brand new these flaws are unacceptable to me, especially since it is made in the USA. It has not been installed yet so I am unable to give a review of its performance. Will update my review after hearing back from customer service. As a side note, the stove was packaged securely in a very heavy wooden crate so it seems unlikely that any damage would have occurred during transport.
