Burns now
I purchased my nc30 thru home depot. I was in a rush to get a woodstove in my cabin in the mountains of Wyoming. At first, smoke bellowed out the door and for two years i had to crack the door a bit. I have proper chimney and length. This is the third new englander stove ive purchased. The first two were spot on. So i knew the woodstove works. This one tho, not so much. Then, one day, i read a review from the tractor store, and it had same problem. This guy took a pipe wrench and had to bend the metal, on top of stove, right behind where the top of door seals to stove. This is where air comes in i reckon. So, i bent mine down a bit, and wella! Now im extremely happy! I never called tech assistance, and maybe this isnt the approved fix, but, hard to say it isnt. Secondary burn started working, heat is amazing now, and wood consumption went down by half. I will say, if i shut the air all the way off, it will not kill the stove, and it will slow the burn down a bit, but not low, as my other stoves would. I feel, by looking at where comes in, the secondary burn just keeps feeding the process here. No adjustments for secondary burn. Anyways, im now very happy again.
